Rethymno is a place of history, of Venetian and Turkish decorations. A city of nobility and culture. A city of tradition. But there is another side to the city. The dark one. Stories that are true, others that are fictional. And some that are both.Stories, events that will give you the shivers, namely “Rigors”.

Yannis Bletas was born and raised in Kozani, Greece. He studied Greek Literature at the Department of Philology/ University of Crete, as well as Acting at the Greek Art Theater “Karolos Koun” ( Theatro Technis.) He attended directing workshops at London Film School in London. He directed seven short movies, commercials, music videos and theater plays. In early 2019 he created the production company “Ble Productions.”
Director Statement
“The historic events of a city are not always boring. Especially when they include hangings, tortures, myths and legends. ‘Rigi’ is an inclusive documentary; firstly, for it encompasses many historic and non-historic chapters. But its most remarkable characteristic is that is made up by testimonies and statements of people who had kept silent and never spoken out about the terrifying events unfolding before their eyes. A historic but also unique documentary unlike anything you have ever seen. Stories and events that will leave you in awe, that will give you the shivers or otherwise ‘Rigors’.
