Μια φορά κι έναν καιρό… υπήρχε μια τρίχα. Με τη δομή ενός παραμυθιού, η ιστορία της ζωής της —από τη στιγμή που φυτρώνει στο κεφάλι ενός μωρού μέχρι τη στιγμή που “πεθαίνει” πέφτοντας από εκεί— γίνεται μια μεταφορά για τον κύκλο της ζωής, την πραγμάτωση των ονείρων και την ανάγκη διατήρησης της διαφορετικότητας χωρίς να χαθεί. Αντιμετωπίζοντας θηριώδη ψαλίδια και δικτατορικές χτένες, η ηρωίδα μάχεται για την ύπαρξή της. Κι όμως, η ζωή συνεχίζεται…

Once upon a…hair, there was IS. With the narrative structure of a fairy tale, the story of her life, from the moments she sprouts on a baby’s head till the moment she “dies” falling off from there, while she has to fight against beastie scissors and dictatorial combs, is a metaphor about the circle of life, about the fulfillment of our dreams and about the need to preserve diversity without becoming extinct. But, anyhow, life goes on…

Ο Κώστας Μπακούρης γεννήθηκε στην Ελλάδα και μεγάλωσε στον Πειραιά. Σπούδασε Σκηνοθεσία Κινηματογράφου και Τηλεόρασης στο State University of New York, καθώς και Κοινωνιολογία στην Αθήνα, ενώ κατέχει Μεταπτυχιακό στην Ψυχολογία και τα Μέσα Μαζικής Ενημέρωσης. Ξεκίνησε τη σταδιοδρομία του με μουσικά βίντεο, συνεχίζοντας με τηλεοπτικές εκπομπές, ντοκιμαντέρ και ειδικά projects. Η πρώτη του μικρού μήκους ταινία, «Heimlich» (2017), συμμετείχε σε 64 διεθνή φεστιβάλ και κέρδισε 31 βραβεία. Το επόμενο έργο του, «Fall Christmas», επιλέχθηκε από το EuroConnection του Clermont-Ferrand Festival. Η πρώτη του ταινία animation, «IS, or: A beautiful, tiny, reddish hair, as thin as fiber», σηματοδοτεί νέα καλλιτεχνική κατεύθυνση. Έχει επίσης σκηνοθετήσει θεατρική παράσταση, εργάζεται στη διαφήμιση και προετοιμάζει το διδακτορικό του.

Kostas Bakouris was born in Greece and grew up in Piraeus, Athens. He studied Film & Television Directing in State University of New York, Sociology in Athens and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Mass Media. He started working as a director in music videos for various artists. He soon went on directing TV shows, documentaries and special events. His first short, «Heimlich» (2017, 19’), was selected by 64 international film festivals, winning 31 awards and distinctions. His next short fiction project, «Fall Christmas», was selected by the EuroConnection of Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. "IS, or: A beautiful, tiny, reddish hair, as thin as fiber" is his first animation. He has also directed a theatrical play, works in the field of advertisement and commercials and is now preparing his PhD study.
