Το Mother Company αποτυπώνει τα βιώματα ανθρώπων που έζησαν μέσα και δίπλα στα εργοστάσια και τα ορυχεία λιγνίτη της Β. Ελλάδας μέσα από χορωδιακή μουσική και τις φωνές των παιδιών της περιοχής. Το πειραματικό ντοκιμαντέρ μικρού μήκους (18') ακολουθεί μια τοπική χορωδία, εγκλωβισμένη μέσα σε ένα εγκαταλελειμμένο εργοστάσιο, να τραγουδά, να προβληματίζεται και να έρχεται αντιμέτωπη με θέματα όπως η οικονομική ανάπτυξη, η οικολογική και υγειονομική καταστροφή αλλά και οι επιπτώσεις της πρόσφατης απολιγνιτοποίησης.

Mother Company captures the lived experiences of people who grew up in and around the lignite factories and mines of Northern Greece, through choral music and the voices of local children. This experimental short documentary (18') follows a local choir, trapped inside an abandoned factory, as they sing, reflect, and confront issues such as economic development, ecological and public-health devastation, and the consequences of the recent lignite phase-out.

Ο Alexander είναι σκηνοθέτης και παραγωγός γνωστός για σύγχρονες και immersive θεατρικές παραγωγές στο Λονδίνο, την Αθήνα και τη Νέα Υόρκη. Ο Konstantinos είναι ηθοποιός-μουσικός, σκηνοθέτης όπερας και ακαδημαϊκός στο Exeter, με έργο σε λονδρέζικες παραγωγές και στη χορωδιακή μουσική της ταινίας. Έχουν συνεργαστεί σε μεγάλης κλίμακας θεατρικά πρότζεκτ, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του The Events.

Alexander is a theatre director, writer, and producer known for contemporary and immersive work in London, Athens, and New York. Konstantinos is an actor-musician, opera director, and Associate Professor at the University of Exeter, also composing the film’s choral music. Their recent collaborations include major productions such as David Greig’s The Events.
