Jon is a long time film industry professional with a strong background in executive management, having founded and run a translation subtitling company and then a post-production business that was sold to Technicolor. Since moving to Salvador, Bahia in 2004, he became passionate about Brazilian culture, fluent in Portuguese and set up Mangaba Productions. Initially Mangaba provided support to overseas production companies but now it produces original material, from documentaries to narrative fiction.
