For Ali, the world is as far as he can see. As he grows up, his will to discover other worlds grows with him. He’s leaving behind Kurdistan, and roams in European Turkey before crossing the Hellenic borders. A new world unfolds and it will be his dünya.

Thanos Liberopoulos first encounter with art was through music. He experimented with synthesizers and keyboards as a member of trip-hop and punk/rock bands. Following his DIY approach he started shooting and directing music videos for his own songs and for fellow bands.
After more than one hundred music videos and dozens of TV commercials, webseries, and theater trailers, cinema was the next challenge for him. He tried his skills on short films as DoP and/or editor (Time of Monsters [2017], A sealed idea [2018], Checkov’s Gun [2018], Portraits [2018]).
“Dünyam” short documentary [2018] is his directorial debut, unveiling the life story of a Kurdish immigrant.
