AWARDS 11th Athens International Digital Film Festival AIDFF

awards 11th aidff

The festival turned 11 years old this year. The New Cinema keeps moving forward. Over the course of six days, we watched 100 documentaries, experimental films, feature films, short films, works of video art, and dance videos from 35 different nations. The festival included a strong showing of Greek cinema. The goal of AIDFF has been to promote Greek films while maintaining the festival's global scope ever since its initial year. All films are overseen from their application to the final screening by an international committee made up of a sizable number of cinema specialists. Every movie that enters the competition is a winner.

Another financial crisis is currently affecting us this year.

Concerns and a strong desire for solutions are generated by COVID-19's aftermath in art. The exhibition of the movies in the

The release of the films in the STUDIO NEW STAR ART CINEMA's theater gives us hope that the Greek cinema will be able to connect with the general public and all of Athens' viewers while also establishing a vibrant presence all over the country. A new generation of filmmakers emerges with the advent of “New Cinema”, framing the more established ones in a spirit of collaboration and fair play.

We saw a lot of world, European, and Athens premieres this year; Films that begin their journey at AIDFF, films that move on, and others that come to AIDFF to wrap up their festival circuit.

Every year, the variety of digital reality serves as the catalyst for a discussion about the medium we employ for filmmaking as well as the definition of new technology.

The new medium must be used by us, not for our own benefit.

The AIDFF continues to prioritize aesthetic search.

Independent production creates the pillars of art.

The festival is held with the support of the Hellenic Film Center. Organization: "Koyinta Cultural Organization", in cooperation with "Tickets-Tickets".
