Director Statement
I am Medea.
Based on Euripides masterpiece, the film re-invents the original play using primary, archetypal elements, as Medea herself is an archetype character.
Medea is the mother, the stranger, the completely fallen and abandoned woman with no place to live. A woman fighting alone to survive.
Medea’s character is emphatically a person of nowadays, although the film is set in the distant past and that is another huge challenge.
